To me, Morjim beach was one of the most idyllic beaches in Goa. The first time I visited this captivating coastal locale, my partner and I were met with an overwhelming frenzy of people thronging its sandy shores. The variety of beachwear ranged from skimpy bikinis to classy swimsuits; some people brought along lounge chairs while others preferred taking a stroll around the area while enjoying its stunning views! Mixing all together Morjim beach seemed to be a perfect and exotic location in Goa.
Upon closer inspection though, it became apparent that the scene was not what one might initially expect – rather than being overrun by tourists indulging in their swimwear and lounging on luxurious beach blankets, locals instead were tending towards shade provided by palm trees or simply taking leisurely strolls along the shoreline.
Some days back I made another post related to Goa s night life culture. Why Goa’s nightlife culture is best in India. Why did I love Morjim Beach so much? Because it’s so idyllic, serene and unassuming; yet bursting with life!
The best things about Morjim beach, Goa
For those who have yet to visit Goa, I implore you to take advantage of its demise-free period – it’s absolutely essential!
The serene setting of Morjim Beach, Goa is an exquisite combination between nature and urbanism. The beach boasts a captivating expanse of golden sand with secluded coves and idyllic tropical surroundings in which visitors can indulge themselves freely; experience something completely unhurried!
While this may not be the ideal scenario for sunbathing, there are ample places to relax as well as some jogging tracks that allow one to enjoy their bodies in complete tranquility while keeping an eye on what’s happening around them. All while listening to one’s favorite tunes via phone app headphones–this should prove quite rewarding! Don’t forget the refreshments available from vendors along the perimeter either!
1. It was so beautiful
I was completely taken aback at how picturesque this beach was! I had seen pictures of this area, but nothing compares to seeing it in person. It’s breathtaking – with its aquamarine waters and vivid greens on every surface, it really is a sight to behold!
This resort is situated atop a gorgeous strip of land, providing guests with a sublime setting for their beach day excursions. During my stay here I went swimming in the ocean; snorkeling alongside the reef; then spent some time rummaging through the nearby vendors selling delicious snacks and drinks before heading back to our accommodation at ‘The Elan’ where we dined on an array of Spanish cuisine before retiring early!
2. It was extremely clean
We are not accustomed to finding such pristine beaches in developed countries, so I was astonished at the immaculate condition of Morjim. There were no litter-filled areas marring its beauty; rather it was dotted with buoys and even some beach umbrellas dotting the expansive stretch of sand were kept neat and tidy!
In addition, little effort had been made by those who frequented it – apart from the stringent hygiene requirements – in maintaining their spaces. Consequently, local authorities have had to intervene to keep an eye out for trash accumulation on the shoreline – which proves that these efforts are essential if we wish to ensure our spaces remain pristine!
3. I didn’t feel like I was in a tourist trap
Travelers often feel compelled to visit popular beach towns in India due to the sheer volume of visitors flocking to them. That being said, I’m happy to report that Morjim Beach was surprisingly tranquil and devoid of any sort of touristy feeling whatsoever!
Whether you’re seeking a relaxing respite from hectic city life or simply looking for a break from jaded urbanism, the abundance of beach destinations across the country offers one’s haven for quiet contemplation and soulful regeneration. Hence I ventured forth expecting some semblance of tranquility at Morjim – but found none such!
Visitors may find themselves inundated with various forms of enticement vying for their attention; however, when not an ounce of fussiness is involved it’s easy to savor this unspoiled atmosphere!
4. The sand is the perfect texture for barefoot-wandering
You won’t find any pebbles or shells here, so you can relax and explore without being dressed in your Sunday best.
I discovered that the sand was a perfect level for barefoot-wandering – it was just enough to provide traction but still silky smooth beneath my toes as I skipped along, feeling revelatory with each step!
Despite its slightly granular consistency when compared with other beaches in Goa such as Palolem and Anjuna; Morjim Beach is equally ideal for sunbathing on those balmy afternoons – especially if you relish the sensation of cooling off barefoot!
5. There were so many ways to experience nature
After savoring such a delicious cuisine, it was time for us to venture off into nature! Our first destination was a secluded cove, where we chose our own picnic spot.
Investing in a hammock meant we could take in the bucolic landscape that surrounded us. There was no need to worry about food; I opted for a simple meal of grilled fish while my companions opted for more elaborate meals with all sorts of flavourful cuisines from around the world.
6. You can lounge in the sun all day long
After a bracing walk along the deserted beach, it was time for some sunbathing.
It is no exaggeration when I say that spending hours basking on this secluded strand of sand can be an absolute dream. After all, one cannot go wrong with a serene getaway: just lie back and bask in its radiant rays! The tranquillity provided by this idyllic locale makes it the ideal spot for unwinding after a busy day; moreover – given its isolated location away from prying eyes – it’s an ideal resting place for those seeking refuge from any external noises as well!
At first glance, Morjim Beach doesn’t seem like your typical tropical paradise. With its tranquil ambiance – dotted with inviting coconuts scattered randomly across its shores – you could easily mistake this spot for any other ocean beach!
On a final note
To embark on a journey of discovery, you must have an adventurous spirit. If it is adventure you seek – then no longer will you be confined to the same set of experiences!
At one point, my friends and I had the urge to explore another beach just outside of Morjim. After driving along one of the numerous roads leading there, we discovered locals who were willing to ferry us directly to this location. It was quite simple; all we needed was a jeep!
This experience provided me with an unforgettable memory – when we arrived at yet another secluded cove nestled alongside lush vegetation, while carefully navigating around rocks before disembarking and strolling along its placid shoreline. Such a gratifying excursion!
