Exploring Jhargram and Belpahari in Monsoon

In August 2022, a group of 12-15 adventure enthusiasts embarked on a journey to discover the hidden gems of Jhargram and Belpahari. Despite the monsoon season, we were determined to witness the captivating beauty that these places are known for. Armed with raincoats and a spirit of exploration, we set off on a thrilling three-day adventure that would leave us with unforgettable memories. Although this is not a very first time trip to Jhargram. Earlier I visited Jhargram for couple of times. I believe Jhargram can be best explored through riding Bikes. But this time we settled down with train trip.

Our journey commenced at the bustling Howrah station, filled with anticipation for the adventure that lay ahead. After a pleasant train ride of approximately 3 hours, we arrived in Jhargram around 9:30 AM. Stepping onto the platform, we were greeted by a fleet of waiting cabs. However, due to the chaotic atmosphere of the market area nearby, we decided to walk a bit further, braving the chaos for another 5-10 minutes until we reached a designated spot where our separate cars awaited us.

With our curiosity piqued and our hunger building, we sat down for a traditional Bengali-style lunch. The flavors of the region delighted our palates, as we savored each dish with gusto.

As the day drew to a close, we returned to our hotel to relax and indulge in some delectable snacks. The evening treated us to a delicious dinner, served amidst the soothing sound of heavy rain pouring outside. In that moment, I ventured out for a while, purchasing a pint of beer to complement the intoxicating ambiance of the rain. Sipping my drink, I reveled in the symphony of raindrops, feeling a sense of euphoria.

The day’s adventures had left me content and fulfilled, and I retired to a restful sleep, serenaded by the rhythmic patter of raindrops against my window. Little did I know that even more captivating experiences awaited us on the following days of our Jhargram sojourn.

Embracing Nature’s Bounty in Belpahari

With the sound of raindrops gently tapping on our windowpanes, we began our day with a hearty breakfast of puri, vegetable curry, and steaming tea. Today’s agenda was an excursion to the picturesque paradise of Belpahari. Despite the rainfall, we were undeterred, equipped with raincoats and umbrellas. Two trusty Boleros awaited us outside, ready to embark on a day of exploration and natural wonders. As we set off on our journey, the rain accompanied us, adding a touch of magic to the lush landscapes. The drive to Belpahari took a few hours, but the time passed quickly as we marveled at the scenery that unfolded before us. • […] The Jhargram trip was a wonderful bonding experience thanks to the enthusiastic drivers of our two Bolero cars. As we journeyed together through scenic countrysides and quaint villages, our shared adventure forged strong connections between us travelers from diverse backgrounds. Though the trip itself was over too soon, the memories and friendships formed will remain. After the trip, I found myself missing the easy communication and camaraderie we shared during those days on the road. When you spend long hours traveling, eating, and sightseeing with the same group of people, a special closeness naturally develops. Engaging conversations flow freely, laughter abounds, and you learn meaningful details about one another’s lives. By the end, our little travel team felt like family. The destinations we covered during this trip is briefly discussed in this post. […]
